Cindy has been practicing Dental Hygiene in the Danville area for 43 years. She is committed to providing excellent gentle dental care to our patients. Cindy believes in the strong connection between a healthy mouth and a healthy body.  When not working Cindy enjoys her family.  She has been married to husband Jr. for 40 years.  Cindy’s son Alex is married to wife Erin.  They have a son Henry.  Youngest son Drew is married to Erica and they both work for Averett University.  Cindy has two cocker spaniels, Reagan and Lou.  She enjoys gardening, reading and making Chrismons.

Bri came to Dr. Helton’s team in 2020.  She is a honor graduate of Magna Vista High School in Ridgeway, VA and earned her Dental Assisting certificate at Danville Community College.  Briana is a Pisces and her favorite TV show is Grey’s Anatomy.  She enjoys playing and reading to her niece.  Briana is the youngest out of 3 girls.  She enjoys being a dental assistant and going to church. 

Amy has been working with Dr. Helton in various administrative and clinical capacities since the Spring of 1997. Her primary responsibilities involve coordinating patient care that best meets our patients dental needs. Amy is a graduate of Averett College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Amy has 3 stepchildren and 3 step grandchildren.  She and her husband Paul have a farm in Dry Fork with chickens, pigs and their dogs Scooter and Jester. 

David is a native of Hickory, NC and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Pharmacy.He has been a pharmacist at several community pharmacy locations in Danville since 1983.  In 2012 he began transitioning away from life as a pharmacist and now helps in the practice in various capacities part time.

Like, Dr. Helton, he too is an active member of West Main Baptist Church.  He has been able to combine his loves for missions, travel, and construction by making many medical and youth mission trips across the US, Central America, and the Caribbean. Throughout his years living in Danville he has also been active in the community volunteering his time with various nonprofit organizations

Kathy handles any questions you may have concerning insurance filling, billing and financial arrangements.  Kathy has worked with Dr. Helton since Spring 2000. She enjoys helping patients achieve their dental goals. She shares in our patients enthusiasm when they accomplish their new smile.  Kathy enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, going shopping in her spare time.

Born and raised in Danville, Penny joined Dr. Helton’s team in March 2022.  After graduating from Bartlett Yancey High School, Penny decided in a career in the dental field.  She started her career with Dr. Grogan, then on to Dr. Shephard’s and ortho.  After adopting her son, Nicholas and helping her husband with their business, she decided to return to the dental field with Dr. Carlish and then to Dr. Miller at the front desk.  After a few life changes she found herself with Dr. Helton and back to doing what she loves, helping patients with their dental health.  In all that is over 30 years of experience.  In her spare time she loves being with her son, loving on her dog and working with God’s Pit Crew. 

Carrie joined Dr. Helton’s dental team in 2006. Dental hygiene is a second career for Carrie and she finds her work to be extremely gratifying. Carrie enjoys hiking on the local mountain bike trails. She also volunteers with the Danville Master Gardener’s Association. Carrie and her husband Mike are beekeepers. They have two sons and a daughter-in-law, and two dogs Ronin and Riley.
