Dr. Helton has practiced family and cosmetic dentistry in Danville since 1983. She is a native of Reidsville, NC, she is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Chemistry and a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Helton prides herself on compassionate comprehensive care for the entire family. She values the relationships that she builds through her family of patients.

She is long time member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Virginia Dental Association (VDA), the Danville-Pittsylvania County Dental Society, The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), The Christian Medical-Dental Association (CMDA) and the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD). Continuing education is of the utmost importance to Dr. Helton in order for her to stay abreast of the latest materials and techniques in dentistry, thus being able to bring those benefits to her patients.

In addition to dentistry, Dr. Helton is very involved with her family. Her husband, David, is a pharmacist and they have two children, Michelle and Cliff. Michelle is married and lives in Southern Pines, NC, with her husband Sean, where she is a nanny.  Cliff attends Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and will graduate in the spring of 2022.

Dr. Helton is an active member of West Main Baptist Church where she is involved with various mission activities.  As a member of CMDA, she has participated in dental missions in Nicaragua to several Caribbean nations.

A cancer survivor, she and her staff support the Danville Cancer Association through the Bridge2Bridge run/walk, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and the Lingeberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Complete oral cancer exams are very important part of her practice of dentistry and are part of each dental hygiene appointment.
